South Staffs and Shustoke

Laura Mitchell - 22nd March 2013

Due to the weather and the risks of travelling it has been decided to postpone these events. Please spread the word.

If youíre looking for some laughs then get down to South Staffs
To kick off the season with great reason
To get our great larks back on the starts
And build our fleet as the ones who canít be beat
To tell them all that we stand tall
And show them how we party loud and hearty.

The first event of the GJW Direct Belle Isle is upon us and the year ahead looks set to be a memorable one. On the 23rd and 24th of March, South Staffs and Shustoke launch the Lark season with three races Saturday and three races Sunday.
Start your Saturday with a traditional bacon butty in hand and a 10.30 briefing. Then take to the water for an 11am start. After the swift revision of how to sail and race we return to shore for lunch and a coffee, to regale the tale of what we should have done at that leeward mark. The second and third races give opportunity to hone those skills discussed at lunch. With an entry fee of £10.00 per boat inclusive of drinks (tea, coffee & squash) whatís stopping you? Come on down (or up) to South Staffs.
Then on the Sunday we all head over to Shustoke for a similar format but of course this time the chance to improve those results and beat that one boat that got away. The briefing starts at 10.30 followed by race one. After that head in for some lunch and a discussion of tactics before heading back out for races two and three. For only £13.00 itís a great days racing with excellent company.
The weekend promises to be a competitive and exciting one, so I look forward to seeing you all there.
