GJW Direct Belle Isle at Rock Sailing Club day 1

Once again the Lark fleet have decended on Cornwall choosing Rock for their base. They were greeted by clear blue skies, crystal clear water and 15-20 knots to put the icing on top.

Race 1: Mike Williams and Mark Chadwick got the fleet away as pathfinders - looking good in their new boat. It was Emma Harris and Nigel Scott - daring to sail together - who were first to the windward mark. However, the 'big shout out' belongs to another sailing couple. James and Katie Ward. Only months after the birth of the their son; Jack, and James' promotion to the heady heights of Lark Chairman, who battled through to take the win

Race 2: Started with a little more breeze, Nigel Hufton and Adam Owens led comfortably around the windward mark with a strong group fighting it out behind. Nigel and Adam went on to win leading from start to finish with Emma and Nigel showing great consistency coming in 2nd.

Overnight Emma Harris and Nigel Scott lead, followed by Steve Hall and Oli Wells.

Meanwhile in other news the Lark Cycling Club enjoyed a strong day 1 of the Giro D'Rock.
