Scrutineering at Abersoch

Dougal Scott - 17th July 2005

Before boats can compete at the Nationals, they need to be weighed, we need to make sure that your sails have been measured, and we need to check boats for buoyancy.

Nationals information packs are being sent out with the details of how we go about this. Boat srutiny will take place at the following times:

1600-1800 on Friday 29th July
0900-1200 Saturday 30th July
1700-1900 Saturday 30th July

Volunteers are needed please, to help with scrutineering at these times. The more volunteers, the less time each person has to spend - the plan is to put together a rota with eveyone only needing to do an hour. Please see the notice on the discussion forum, or email if you are able to volunteer.

It will also be possible to have any unmeasured sails measured on Saturday. There will be a rota of measurers, who will be available from 0900-1200 and from 1700-1800 on Saturday.

If your boat is unmeasured, we will try to find time to measure it during the week. Please note that this will almost certainly not be possible before the championship begins. If, when we measure your boat, we find it not to measure, we won't send you home - it is a holiday after all! But we will have to exclude you from any of the prize categories, and it will be your responsibility to fix the fault, and get the boat re-measured as soon as possible afterwards.
