Weymouth SC 9/10 July
*** NOTE CHANGE OF ADVERTISED START TIME***
LAST OPEN BEFORE THE NATIONALS!
Yes it has come around quickly, but there is only one more open before the
Nationals and the word around the fleet is that its going to be a big one!
As per normal, we have 2 long races on Saturday followed by 3 shorter races
on Sunday, all of which take place in beautiful Weymouth Bay. Racing starts
at 2pm on Saturday (not 12 o'clock as previously advertised) and 1100 on
For those who haven't been before, the club is in Weymouth harbour - it is
not the Sailing Academy at Portland - and you have to walk your boat along
the harbour wall from near the swingbridge in town. Do not attempt to drive
down there - stop near the chandlery by the "no entry" sign on the cobbles.
There is parking available at the Sea Cadets Centre up near Nothe Fort
(follow the signs out of town) for £2.50 for the weekend.
There are plenty of b+b's in town or it looks like a lot of people will be
heading over to a campsite - Osmington Mills Holiday Park about 7 miles East
of Weymouth, who have have a campsite that holds 200 pitches. £12 per night
per tent (based on one car and as many people you can fit in your tent)
