| I understand that a second, higher pole mounting can be fitted on the mast. As a newcomer to Larks and indeed spinnaker boats, could anyone explain to me, the need for this and when it might be utilised. Many thanks. |

| It allows the pole to be set horizontally rather than at an angle and hence will project the tack slightly further out. It's a crude adaption of the system on some yachts where the inboard end of the pole goes on a slide on a track and is therefore infinately variable. |

| Ignore it. No-one uses it, use an adjustable uphaul/downhaul instead. |
