I am trying to set up a Mk1 Lark that I have acquired No 834.
Can anyone tell me what the mast foot to bulkhead measurement should be |

I'm not sure about the foot, but with no rig tension the mast is nearly outside of the deck mast gate. With the rig tension on (so that the mast bends) the mast should be half in the gate - the widest point of the mast is about in line with the edge of the foredeck. Consequently you will need to fit something to extend the mastgate backwards to support the mast sideways, aluminium angle is quite a good 'quick fix' for this.

| Chris is quite right you definately need to extend the mast gate, as I tried to get away without doing so and consequently ended up with a bent mast.! |

Thanks for your advice. I shall have a play over the weekend and see what I can come up with

Neil we should try comparing boats for that sort of thing
I've gust realised we are both at Haversham and I was looking at your cascade kicker about 3 hours ago
